GigBack exists to help live music thrive. When we generate an annual profit, we commit all of it to supporting UK grassroots music organisations, venues and eligible charities.
Where things stand
GigBack is new, and we'd rather be straight with you than polished. Right now, GigBack is not directly linked with any charity, venue or cause. There are no official partnerships behind the scenes, no endorsements, and nothing on this page should be read as one.
We aim to make contributions throughout the year, followed by a final payment once our annual accounts confirm the total profit generated. As a growing business, there may be years when GigBack does not make a profit. When that happens, there is no profit to distribute, but our commitment remains unchanged.
For the avoidance of doubt, GigBack is not a registered charity itself. It's a private limited company committed to supporting UK grassroots music. Entry payments are not donations.
Why grassroots matters
Almost every band you love played a 200 capacity room first. Those venues, promoters and crews are the training ground for the whole industry, and a lot of them are struggling with rising costs and shrinking margins.

We will publish an annual impact update showing how much was contributed and where the money went. If you run or know an organisation, venue or eligible charity supporting UK grassroots music, we'd love to hear from you.
How the annual commitment works
For this commitment, annual profit means GigBack’s positive profit for the relevant financial year, calculated in accordance with its annual accounts after legitimate business operating costs, prize costs, staff costs, professional fees and applicable taxes, but before contributions made under this commitment.
GigBack may make provisional contributions during the financial year where its financial position and cash flow allow. Once the annual accounts have been completed, GigBack will calculate the total commitment, deduct any qualifying contributions already made for that year and contribute the remaining balance.
